Yarn-ism?

Here's a fun friend I made for a new friend. This guy lives with Aaron and Tiffany in Chicago. I like how the photos turned out and how his tentacles curl and stand up. Aaron says the little guy has to be fluffed up sometimes because he gets droopy - that's to be expected since there is nothing inside and it's just yarn. I like how it looks like a squid and a starfish.

I gave this piece after my first round of studio visits last April in Chicago for the show that is currently up at Road Agent. The show opened last Saturday and will be up until March 1.

Untitled, 2007

This is Untitled, 2007, from 500x's Expo 2008 show that is up now. It's the first piece I've made with the intent of showing it in a gallery. It was a juried show so I'm glad that worked out! It's too bad the viewers in the gallery can't take the piece apart and really play with it like with my other pieces that I've given to friends.

Stephanie gave me the yarn. She bought it at a thrift store, or maybe an estate sale. I made a piece for her with the same colors, but I need to borrow it back to take a decent photograph.
